What's a Baconnection™?
When you successfully link a starting ingredient to a recipe that has bacon in it, you've made a Baconnection™.

 

Is there only one way to connect a starting ingredient to a bacon recipe?
No, there are multiple paths you can take to get from your starting ingredient to a recipe with bacon in it. The fewer recipes you link through, the higher your score will be.

 

Is it impossible to connect any of the starting ingredient to a bacon recipe?
Nope. Every starting ingredient has at least a few paths that will connect you to a bacon recipe.

 

What's a zone?
A zone is the screen that contains six starting ingredients to connect to bacon.

 

Where do all these recipes come from?
The recipes we use in this game come from Allrecipes.com, Taste of Home, and Everyday with Rachael Ray. Those recipe sites are all part of Reader's Digest Association, the company that's bringing you Baconnection™.

 

Hey! My version of that recipe includes bacon in it. How come yours doesn't?
We're using a selection of recipes from three different recipe sites. Recipe variations are one of the best things about cooking at home, but we used a particular version of each recipe to make the game fun and challenging. (That said, it's hard to go wrong by adding bacon to something.)

 

How do I win badges?
You win badges when you meet a milestone in the game, or when you do something especially well. Here's a list of all the badges available and how you earn them:

 

Piglette: Complete your first two Baconnection™s (going from a starting ingredient to a recipe with bacon in it).

 

Porker: You made your Baconnection™ from the third, fourth, or fifth starting ingredients in zone 1 with 60,000 or more points remaining on the timer. (Note: You can't earn Porker and Boss Hog at the same time.)

 

Boss Hog: You made your Baconnection™ from the third, fourth, or fifth starting ingredients in zone 1 and scored at least 140,000 total points. (Note: You can't earn Porker and Boss Hog at the same time.)

 

Super Swine: You completed zone 1 by finding Baconnection™s for all six starting ingredients.

 

Fry Cook: Complete two Baconnection™s in zone 2.

 

Swing Chef: You made your Baconnection™ from the third, fourth, or fifth starting ingredients in zone 2 with 60,000 or more points remaining on the timer. (Note: You can't earn Swing Chef and Head Chef at the same time.)

 

Head Chef: You made your Baconnection™ from the third, fourth, or fifth starting ingredients in zone 1 and scored at least 145,000 total points. (Note: You can't earn Swing Chef and Head Chef at the same time.)

 

Baconnoisseur: You completed zone 2 by finding Baconnection™s for all six starting ingredients.

 

Ph.B. in Baconology: You correctly answered 5 out of 6 questions in a round of Bacon Bits trivia.
